Just when you thought summer couldn’t get any hotter one of the hottest events to hit the city centre kicked off in early January. Pandemonium ’09, the ever popular summer Buskers Festival hit city centre pavements for a week of mad cap antics from January 4th.
This year the line up was one of the best ever, with acts coming from as far afield as Canada, the United States and Australia, with acts ranging from fire eating and skateboard stunts to old school Kung Fu Comedy and Ballet Hooliganism.

Founded in the summer of 2001 in Seattle's Pike Place Market, the Pike Market Performers' Guild represents street performers in the Pike Place Market. Now in the eighth year of our existence, we have succeeded in becoming a voice for performers in the market and in the city beyond, mediating between merchants and buskers, as well as gaining great recognition for Buskers in general. In 2004, the Seattle City Council proclaimed "Seattle Buskers' Week" a week celebrating Street Performers city wide, culminating in the Pike Place Market Buskers' Festival, a festival celebrating buskers from around the NW and beyond.
